In the summer of 1996 Meaty and Dave got together over some tall iced pints of Vodka and orange. They decided that they were fed up with jamming and wanted to form a band that was well organised and planned from day one. It had to be good hard hitting Punk, have catchy good tunes and lyrics that were about something. It had to compete with the big American bands like Green Day and Rancid but not ape them. They phoned John and Maff the next day and swore them in.
Next they turned Meaty's garage into a rehearsal room, soundproofed it with eggboxes, rockwool, huge sheets of chipboard and some old carpets and began writing and rehearsing. Later a sound booth was added and an old 8 track reel to reel. A four song demo was completed in a couple of months and they set out to get some gigs, all they needed was a name. This was stumbled upon at a fireworks party when all of the band had turned up with nothing but bangers and airbombs and lots of beer. Airbomb's first gig was in Febuary 1997 with Sick on the Bus at the Wheatsheaf in Nottingham. They sold their carrier bag full of demos and came away enthused and with a few more bookings.
In 1998 the band's debut album "Look Out" was put out on Retch Records. Look Out received a four K's review in Kerrang and has since been repressed by Airbomb. The next challenge was to write an even better album, I mean who ever set out to write a worse one ?
2004. The difficult second album. After some major upheaval, new babies, jobs, moving house, health scares and arguments. Airbomb wrote and recorded their second album entitled PNUK. With no label (having decided not to continue with Retch) they elected to raise the cash and release it themselves on their own PNUK label.
The Band are currently working on their third album

If you're looking for a good, old-fashioned punk band this is the band for you. Airbomb have a great sound and a great attitude. Its honest, fun punk rock with no ego. One of my favourite bands and one of the best bands I've seen live.
