First Time Riot are a punk band, no one can deny that. It all started when Matt & Grant decided that they wanted to start a new musical adventure. Days at work were spent dreaming of becoming big punk rock stars and making loads of money, but as they are both veterans to the scene they thought it best just to have a laugh, have their say and play some damn good music. They asked an old pal Damo (who, in the past had been in and formed other bands with Matt) if he wanted to play Bass. In true Del Monte fashion he said yes! After a few unreliable drummers Matt bumped into Kev on a Saturday afternoon in the boozer: "It was a strange afternoon, I had just finished putting posters around town advertising for a new drummer and then went for a drink. I was halfway through my pint when some bloke puts his bags on the table opposite then moves over to the bandit to lose all his money. As this bloke sits down one of his bags falls over and out roll a pair of sticks! Was this a fate or just coincidence? Whatever, we got talking about music and I discovered that Kev could also play bass but he wanted to join F.T.R as the drummer". Things were looking good. F.T.R. had a few gigs under their belt and they recorded a four track demo. The future of F.T.R. was set, or so they would have believed! Unfortunately, due to other commitments, Damian decided to walk away from the band. F.T.R. then drafted Tom as a drummer, Kev turned his hand to the bass. This line up worked for a while as F.T.R. had played in and around the Midlands and also up north. Again, just as things were going well for F.T.R. Kev decided to walk away from the band. It seemed as if F.T.R. were plagued by unreliable bassists! That is until now, F.T.R. have a new bass player and a solid line up
