Smash it up!Radiation Angels

Radiation Angels

Radiation Angels frontman

Based in the Wolverhampton area, this group of four have come along way. They have supported other West Midlands acts such as GBH, and Drongos for Europe, they have released 3 E.P’s and have played a fair amount of gigs. The line up has remained pretty much the same all the way through, Pete – Lead vocals/guitar, Andy – Guitar/vocals, Hill – bass/vocals and A.J – Drums. Their most recent E.P ‘Initiation’ consists of a great collection of songs, including ‘Ronnie and Reggie’, ‘Liberation’ and ‘at the Cesspool’, songs which they play at most gigs.

This band are something unique, blending punk, hardcore and some thrash and psychobilly influences within their sound. Obvious influences are bands like AFI, Subhumans, GBH and the Casualties. Their gigs comprise of mainly spitting, screaming and falling over, not to mention stage invasions, For information on gigs, and e.p’s visit thier website.

*Radiation Angels have one of the most charismatic front (young) men I’ve seen in a long while, a cross between Davey Havoc from AFI (vocal wise too) and Justin Sane from Anti Flag but with a distinctively English feel. In fact the band have a distinctive Anarcho edge someone mentioned the Subhumans which I know is an influence, I have to say if the original Anarcho bands had been half as good as Radiation Angel then I may have had more time for them back in the day, they already have a punk rock classic written called “Ronnie and Reggie” catch this band if you can, they impressed everyone watching with their all out attack-chaos cool punk rock, another winner
